Recess week! :)

Today marks the start of my recess week! Actually nothing to be happy about as it's a study week, need to prepare for my 3 upcoming mid term tests. I must really study as much as I can and get the best out of this mid term in order to pull my CAP. Hais....life in university is really not easy. I have to sit for tests which is counted after 1 month of learning and then final exams after 2-3 months of learning? Seems like there's no time for me to consolidate....unlike in secondary school and JC. Before O and A level at least there is still time to make mistake and learn from it. Now? If you were to make mistake, there goes the marks....seems like the only time I can make mistakes is when I do my tutorials and practices if I have the time.

Red monster came today! Worst still, I got cramps....:( what a great way to start my recess week. At least I didnt get it yesterday, if not I won't be able to go for volleyball training. Hais, can't go changi airport with shunyu and yingjie to for stay over already...sian...I was still looking forward to that the whole week.....*totally ruined*

Michelle got transferred to barossa at holland village on wednesday. I had my IT1006 mid terms on wednesday, so thursday was sort of free so when to visit her since it was near my campus. It has been a long time since I last see her in person. I think the last time was oct 2010? When I went to barossa at esplanade to give her her birthday present? I had a nice chat with her although it was a short one. Seems like she is able to get me a part time job for my coming holiday. If possible, I would like to try too. The restaurant she is working at is called Al Dente , an italian restaurant at esplanade. There's a roof top dining area too. And she told me, just on Valentine's day, her team collected a revenue of 10k in just one night! 10K! She told me she feel so proud of her team and had a great sense of achievement that day. When she got home that day, which is already 2-3am? She moment she sat on her bed, she was knocked off till the next morning! This was how tired she was.....at first I was thinking of finding an admin job for holidays since I never done admin before. But, working with michelle is really fun and I can get to learn a lot of stuff from her. So I guess working again with her for the coming holiday won't be a bad idea? I can learn how to open up too? Since I will be working in the service line? See how it goes then.....I think I think too much liao, midterms have not even started and I am thinking about holidays.....-.-

I've been trying to save up as much as I could these day. And when there's any bursary that I'm applicable to apply, I will go for it. The reason is to prepare a sum of money if I can go for exchange program in the near future. I did tell my mum about it but seems like she is not convinced that I am capable to go there live and study alone for 1 semester or even 1 month for summer program. Actually, I am also not sure if I can. But I just have this mindset that since I'm already, 不可以也要可以. Even there's lots of problem, I have to overcome it and make things work out? Easier said than done? Hmmm......

Sometimes, how I wish I can have a cheerful personality, be friendly and approachable so that I can make friends easily and I won't be afraid of being alone. Is it possible to change personality? It takes time but possible right? And how to do that? Many people say just be yourself and you will be alright. But is that really true? What if your personality is really affecting you to make friends? Are you going to stick to it till the end? A small change will be better right?

Why am I like that? My sister and brother are unlike me. My brother seems like getting more and more quiet these days. I hope he won't be like me. I told my mum to take note of that. Did I inherit this from my dad? Because my dad is also a very quiet person....but personality is not heritable right?

I shouldn't be thinking too much, have to focus for my mid terms. Yep, focus on my mid terms. Focus. Focus. Focus.

finally can start blogging

It's been quite some time since I last blogged. School work has been piling up ever since I started school. Luckily, the coming week is quite okay as there isn't any graded assignments to hand in. The only major issue is my IT1006 mid terms. Damm fast. I dont even have the mid term feeling yet. :X

School has been good so far, got a friend, zenia to company me throughout this semester. We have the same timetable. It's better as compared to semester 1 which I need to go for some lectures and classes alone. Most of the guys also took the same module and tutorial class. More friends is really better, can help each other. I hope I will continue to get along with them well and even better! Hope for the best!

Also, this month, 8 feb, tzumi left for Adelaide and 9 feb, jiaying left for Sydney. T.T 2 of my closest friend left singapore......Hais. All the best for their studies and life there! Things can really get difficult at the start but I'm sure they can overcome it. They are tough and strong! Sometimes, I wonder what if I'm the one going overseas alone? Will I be able to survive well? It's a good experience to study overseas but at the same time I need to be independent. I think I will be okay about my health, meals and studies there? What I will be worried about will be getting to my destinations. Truthfully speaking, I am not very good with directions. I need to go to somewhere many times before I can totally understand and remember the routes. I am so afraid of getting lost. Maybe because I experienced that when I was young? So now got a phobia?

Currently listening to 韋禮安's songs and blogging at the same time. His voice is really nice! Just love 慢慢等!!! And I also begin to listen to 方炯鑌's songs. Actually only one, but will find more if I have the time. His 壞人 is damm nice too! Nice voice too! Got lots of nice songs to share, this is the list:

Here come semester 2!

Yes....today is my last day of holiday.....so fast......:(
Printed out my timetable just now....dun really like it :(
I not only have to go to school for lectures and tutorials everyday, my lessons all starts at 8am everyday, except for tuesday, it starts at 9am. =.=lll no difference, but better than nothing? Although I end school at 2pm everyday, I have to give tuition on monday and wednesday. Other than that, I also have a tuition class on saturday morning. Also, this semester, I have 4 cores, last semester only 2! I really hope I can focus better this semester and get my motor working real hard.

I didn't go out today. I wanted to....so as to enjoy my holiday to the last bit. But apparently it rained...so I guess it's fate that I should just stay at home? Actually I really need to get one pair of shoes for school, because of the current one is really going to wear out soon. I don't want to go out once school starts just to get a pair of shoes. I saw one pair of loafers at jurong point on friday, I like the design and is really comfortable. But to my disappointment, I can't fit their largest pair, size 38! I just need to get one size larger! So sian....look for sooooo looong and found one nice loafers and don't have my size. Hardly have this problems nowadays as shoes sizes seems to be big for almost all the shoes. WHY THIS PAIR?!?!?!?!?!? :(

I'm not sure whether I will continue to blog after tomorrow...see if I have anything special to blog about. Oh ya, tomorrow is the judgement day for the O levels students, all the best for them! 2 of my cousins are getting their results tomorrow, hope to hear good news from them!

Universal Studio Singapore!

Just came back from a whole day of FUN! I shall now blog about my HAPPY day!

We met at around 10am at walked over to resort world by the bridge. It was a bright and sunny day, perfect day for such an excursion! We booked the tickets online, so we don't need to queue up and buy the tickets. We just proceed to the entrance and there we go, the FUN begins! I didn't expect there will be so many people since it's a weekday and school holidays are over. But I am totally WRONG! There were many people queuing to buy the tickets when we reach the entrance....lucky we bought it online.

So, we went in and took photos of the nice buildings. We saw Joker on the way and since the queue was short, we took a photo with him. We saw frankenstein too, but the queue was really long....didn't get to take a photo with him. We went on and our rides began.....

1st: Transformers
At first I thought it is a 4D show, so only the chairs will move and we need to wear the 3D glasses. But turned out, it was a mini roller coaster ride! It was awesome! The effects are very real, up till the extend that I can feel the heat when there's a fire ball right in front of me! How's cool is that? I was really amazed by it. Then I can feel the wind when I'm in the sky flying. Too bad we didn't go for 2nd round.

2nd: Battlestar Galatica (human)
This was so SHIOK! But is kinda scary as there's a lot of droppings and there isn't a handle in front for me to hold. I had to hold onto the seat instead. The locking part was only at my thigh areas, nothing at my upper body. Nevertheless, it was SHOIK!

3rd: Battlestar Galatica (cylone)
This is the best ride for me! I like it the most! The most scary part was the first drop when it started since it went upwards to its maximum. It was fast, there's 360 degree turning which isn't scary at all as it slowed down when it turns. I screamed with all my might throughout the ride, that's the way to go right? It was SHOIKNESS x1000000000000000.....

4th: Mummy returns
This ride is very exciting, the backdrop wasn't as scary as we thought and there's 2 drops throughout the ride if I remember correctly which makes it exciting. The effects are cool too.

After that ride, we went to the locker to take our bags. We were suppose to pay $9 for it, but we were so unlucky. The machine couldn't process and we couldn't make payment. After a few tries, it turned out that because 20 mins is almost up so the machine kinda went haywire and thus the error. So we have to pay extra $2, kena cheated! So in the end, we paid $11 for the locker. It was lunch time and we went Hollywood China Bistro for lunch. While we were on our way there, we saw BETTY BOOP! I love her so much! SO VINTAGE! Haha, of course, we took a picture of her. SO PRETTY AND CUTE! Anyway, we had set meal for lunch. The set meal costs $12++, it comes with an appetizer, main dish of your choice, soup of the day, 1 side of your choice and a dessert of the day. It was a filling lunch, it tastes good too, worth the money.

5th: Madagascar Ride
This ride is a family ride, is a sit through the tunnel. Nothing much. But there's a surprise at the end. There's a waterfall and we though we will have to go through that and get drenched. But luckily, we didn't the waterfall make way for us!

6th: Airway in Far Far Away land
This is the dragon roller coaster ride. It was fast, totally not scary at all.

7th: 4D shrek adventure

It wasn't very fantastic, the entertainment level is more for children as the 4D effects are not a lot too. They should add more effects to make it more interesting.

8th: Waterworld

The show was GOOD! The effects, water spraying, explosion, funny storyline and the real stunts from the performers were great! We sat at the green area, so we are expected some spray. The blue area at the front are for those who want to get SOAKED. Yes, I mean it, SOAKED. They just spray water with pails, watergun and water spraying from the jet ski during the show! Little water for me was kinda refreshing for such a sunny day. At the end, we took photos with the performers too.

9th: Treasure Hunt

This was a relaxing ride, just sit through and look at the scenery.

10th: Lights, Action....something.....

This is a show hosted by Steven Spielberg. It's a show that showed us how a scene in a movie can be made in a studio. We went into the studio and the scene was a level 5 hurricane. The props were VERY REAL! With all the wind, water and FIRE. Again, I can feel the heat. The falling of props from the ceiling were so sudden and the impact was really big. The props were big and heavy metals, so the water splashed like nobody business when it fell into the water. It was as though there's a hurricane right outside the building (the set was in a building). I was also amazed by how the walls of the buildings got torn away by the hurricane. Cannot miss this!!!

11th: The band

There's this 4 foreigners who acted as retro singers. 3 of them were handsome caucasians and 1 of them is an asian. They sang songs live and danced right in front of us. They were really good performers, funny too! 1 of the caucasians got A LOT of facial expressions. Funny! Before their performances, there's a queue to take photos with them, we went to queue too. But....we were to unlucky, the group in front took the last shot with them as they need to perform. Hais, didn't manage to take photos with them! They are really cool, cute and handsome! They are really perfect (quoted from jiaying) because they look good and can sing and dance well. Really wonder how and where did USS get to find these kind of people to do this performing job? 

That's about it, we left about 15 mins to 7pm after the band's performance. So we walked around and take photos as much as we can before leaving the place. I think it's worth the money as the rides and performances are of high quality and did not disappoint me. They amaze me! 

We had dinner at Secret Recipe. All of us had chicken lasagna. We ordered and shared chocolate banana and white chocolate macadamia cake. So long never eat secret recipe's cake liao! NICE! I got this ben and jerry's voucher which I wanted to use ever since I got it last year. Finally! Can use it. We bought 2 small cups, New York Super Chunky Chocolate and Toffee coated chocolate ice cream. I prefer the new york's flavour. First time eating ben and jerry's, nothing special leh.....maybe we didn't order their bestseller. I had so much good food today! *satisfied*

We went to the bridge after that, found a place and sit down. We chat all the way to 11pm before going home. ^^

Other than having a trip to USS, what makes me happy today is because I actually got my GEM module for just 120! I was quite worried at first because I missed the open bidding session, so I didn't manage to see what's the minimum bid before close bidding starts. I just place 350 as my bid and hope that I can get it. There's 370+ bidders but there's only 350 vacancies, so have to make sure my bid is higher than the 350th. LUCKILY I GOT IT! YAY! No need to headache for modules any more....now I just need to ballot for my tutorials time slot.....^^

Lastly, my new iphone case finally came! Gonna start a new year with a new iphone cover. The printing of the picture is not that good, I hope I won't need to change one half way through the year.....but still, love the print! ^^

Christmas Eve

Today is christmas eve, nothing much for me when it comes to christmas. My family don't celebrate christmas so we don't have gift exchange, the most only a sumptuous dinner which I think is good enough. Later on, I'm having a BBQ at the void deck area with my relatives from my father side in the evening. It's quite some time since we have a family gathering, maybe because all the kids are grown ups. I hope I will have a lot of things to chat with my cousins. I don't know why we like don't have much things to say when we grow up. We used to have a lot of fun when we are together. Weird. 

Yesterday I went to the student care which I gave tuition for their opening ceremony. They are no longer called 'Gifted Learner's Student Care' but 'Rayydie Learning Studio'. At first I thought it's just an opening ceremony and a lunch provided, but didn't expect the centre is also having a christmas party that day. It was fun, able to see so many children performing short skits, singing and dancing to christmas songs. This year's christmas is indeed a different one for me. The skits and dance movements are all came up by the children, the teachers are just there to monitor their behaviours. I think the children are really creative, I don't think I will be able to come up with such dance moves at their age and not even sing and dance in front of so many people. I think letting children to enroll in such student care with all these activities are really good. The children not only can learn new things and have new experiences but also at the same time make new friends from different age groups. When they grow up, they probably won't have much difficulties making friends and will have the courage to try new things. Unlike me....:(  

So.....I not only had a free lunch but also a christmas present. Although is just a tin of biscuits but is the thought that counts. I really appreciate the principal for inviting me to the party although I am just a tuition teacher there who don't know much students in the centre. 

Tomorrow is christmas, also my sister's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIS! No activities planned for tomorrow, I guess I'm gonna slack my day off on christmas......

The day after christmas is a public holiday, I'm having a family gathering at my aunt's house (mother side). It will be fun I guess? Cousins there are closer to me, we will have a lot of things to chat about. Good food, good accompany is just what I need. :D

Once christmas is over, that means in less two weeks time school will start for me. My results for the first semester is really very bad, I MUST BUCK UP. If not I really don't know how am I going to graduate. Shihui, please don't waste the school fees, it's in thousands per semester! 

Let's talk about my short getaway to pulau ubin. It was relaxing but too bad the weather is not good. It rained throughout our stay.

1st day:

We had lunch at tampines food court and went to cold storage to get

We were very budget, so gotta to resort to this. Not everyone will be able to accept this for lunch and dinner, so I guess shinfen, shunyu and tzumi all have the same mindset. I think this is good as there will be less disagreement between us.

We board the ferry and arrived at pulau ubin. It was bright and sunny. We decided to not waste money and so walk to the resort. It's a 2.2km walk with all our barang-barang. It was OK at the start. Like I said, it was bright and sunny. But don't know when, dark clouds arrived and the sky starts to get gloomy and IT RAINED! We were again, with that 落魄 mode, like the one we had in Taiwan. No choice, we opened our umbrella and continued walking. 

Since it's raining outside, we couldn't go anywhere so we stayed in the room. We were not bored AT ALL! We got saboteur, bridge, monopoly deal, 四色牌, STRESS, snap JACK to play throughout the night. Also, we have 'tea' throughout! Haha, the 'tea' here is actually water. We slept at around 2am and woke up at around 8.30am the next day. 

2nd day: 

We left our room at 9am for breakfast. They have a complimentary breakfast for each of us. It is not buffet that kind, so only have one set to each of us.

Breakfast! Not bad I would say for such a resort.....

Brought the butter and jam home for our lunch that day

It was drizzling after our breakfast, we didn't go kayaking as we scared the rain will get heavier which will be such a waste of money. Hence, we went to have fish spa. This was our first time doing fish spa. The experience was a traumatizing one for tzumi! She was so scared to put her feet into the water for the fishes. Shinfen, shunyu and I were afraid at first, but after a few tries, we were used to the ticklish feeling. We only have 1 hour for that and went to touch the fishes. There's big and small stingrays, some fishes in the area. Now, it's shunyu who don't dare to touch the fishes. Weird, tzumi dares to touch......Oh and we went for our free lunch after that. During the fish spa, a family is checking out so they won't be able to use their free lunch coupon and thus gave it to us. *SO HAPPY* But there's only 2 coupons, so 2 of us shared one plate of the spaghetti and went back to the room and continue our lunch with the beans and bread. 

And what did we do in our room? We had a nap and continue with games before heading to the hornbill restaurant for dinner. This hornbill restaurant is actually the same one for our breakfast and lunch. We wanted to have a proper dinner since is our last night at pulau ubin. We had 3 dishes with rice. The portion is small and is expensive as compared to those zi char we had on main island.

After that we went back to our rooms for games. We slept at a later time that day since is our last night. Before we sleep we put on mask! This is my first time doing 'facial' with friends! Haha. Indeed, a relaxing holiday! 

3rd day:

The day that I received my results. It stated that my results will be released at 9am sharp. But, a SMS woke me up at 7.44am. I reached for my iphone and without doing anything, I can see all my results. I was contented with it, as I expected it will be worst. But once I know my friends' results, I start to feel useless? sad? It was also their first semester, but how come my results are not even there as them? I really wonder why, the problem lies in me I guess. Many things happen once I start university. My mind starts to fill with things that bother me day and night. I guess that's cause me to be unable to focus and study. I can feel it. But I just cannot control my mind and stop thinking about it. But I guess no matter how much I procrastinate my results won't will shoot up like that. I have to start and do something about it. I really pray hard that 2nd semester will be better for me. 

We woke up late that day and went to have breakfast. We reached the restaurant at around 9.45am and the breakfast stops serving at 10am. When I passed the coupon to the person, her face like shocked. I guess they already stopped the service and now have to come up with 4 sets of breakfast. It took them sooooo looong to get the breakfast ready for us. Actually it was suppose to be the same but I guess they ran out of ingredients? So they gave us a different one.

There's meat! 

After breakfast, we went back to our rooms and pack up to check out. We walked back like how we walked to the resort from the jetty. AGAIN, it was OK at the start and then it started to rain AGAIN! @.@ But luckily, it is just a small shower and the sun came out. We went back to the main island and the first thing is to have lunch. I think we were deprived from good food so quite a few meals that all of us agreed to have McDonalds. I ordered fillet-o-fish, upsized with twisters fries. I JUST LOVE TWISTERS FRIES! Because every mouthful of that fries is just so fulfilling!

After lunch, we chat for hours! We starting eating at around 1pm plus? We left McDonalds at around 4pm! We slept through our MRT ride home and I was just in time for 娱乐百分百.

Although it was a short getaway, but I had fun. It was relaxing and with good accompany around it was even better! 3D2N is just nice! Definitely will head to a new place for the next holiday! I hope the same accompany will still be there and able to go for holidays together! :)  

Short Getaway to Pulau Ubin

With the same company, we will be moving on to our 2nd destination, Pulau Ubin tomorrow, excited about it! I hope that the weather will be nice to us and give us SUNNY day for all three days. Although Pulau Ubin is just an island in singapore, I wish it will be a fun trip like the one I had in Taiwan. 

We will be staying in a resort call, Celestial Resort. We will be staying in a 2 storey family duplex suite, with 2 bedrooms, one in each storey. Also, in each bedroom, a bathroom will be attached to it, so two can share one bathroom. There will be a living room and the suite comes with a mini fridge, a TV set and an electric kettle. Sounds big right? I really hope it will turned out what I'm expecting. We will be staying there for 3 days 2 nights, the total cost is only: $509.32, breakfast is included. So each of us only need to pay $127.33 for this short getaway. Of course, I haven't include our lunch and dinner and other activities over there that require us to pay. Let's just see how much more I will be spending. 

Gotta try and finish watching Heartstrings by today, if not I will have to wait for another three days. Hais, come to think of it, three more days and my results for finals will be out. PLEASE, don't give me heart attack, I really hope for the best. Just don't give me heart attack....please.......

Sleepover at Tzumi's house! :D

This sleepover is the first time for the four of us (jiaying, shunyu, tzumi and I) to stay overnight together. Come to think of it, we never had a camp together in school, or go overseas together, so that's the reason why. It turned out well. 

Before heading to tzumi's hosue, jiaying and I went to watch breaking dawn at AMK Hub. It was nice, not that bad. It makes me want to know what happen next, so I am looking forward to part II. I like their effects they used in the movie, it is very real. Jiaying told me that the book is not very interesting, but luckily the movie captured all the main stories in the book. After that, we wen to to fairprice to get the ingredients for dinner. Having carbonara fusilli pasta for dinner that day! :P

Meet up with shunyu and go over to tzumi's house. We laze around a bit and played Wii. After that, we prepared our dinner! One whole packet of fusilli is just too much for us, we spilt it into 5 bowls, so tzumi can have one bowl for lunch the next day. We added broccoli and hot dog. It turned out okay, is edible, haha. Jiaying and tzumi cut the broccoli, shunyu cut the hot dog and I took care of the sauce. All of us have a huge bowl of pasta for dinner. We were all bloated! DAMM FULL!

Looks appetizing? Haha. 

After dinner, we watched some tv and tzumi's continued with her 发证先锋. After that, we watched '唐山大地震'. According to tzumi, it is a VERY touching movie. I think is touching, I teared at some parts. This movie is worth watching. Then, one by one, we went to bath and then we watched a thriller movie, 'Orphan'. This is really thrilling, scary at some parts too. But there isn't much surprise for me, what I predicted really happened. But is also another movie worth watching, there are some parts which I think are quite cool. Like a picture looks exactly the opposite under blue light as a special kind of paint is used to paint it. 

It's about 3am after that movie. We went into the room and played monopoly deal. We played till 4am and went to sleep. Next morning, we left at around 12pm plus because tzumi and I each have a meeting later on that day. 

I hope there will be more stayover in the future! :D
