Time to say goodbye

Now then I realized why yingjie cried on the day when we are leaving school for self-study for O levels. I really understand now. She told me that time that she don't like changes that's why she cried. But I think is more than that. Just that she didn't say? I cannot be so sure about it too.

28/06/2011 was my second last day at Bunalun. I was quite happy as I am going to be free from my 'godma' and going for taiwan in one day time. Nothing much at work, peaceful too. When I was about to make a drink for myself, I went to ask the chef, Chern yu if he wants a drink too. He said yes, though 'godma' made him chai latte in the morning, giving me the -.- look. And he added, he wants cappuccino and this will be the last coffee that I will be making for him. I immediately replied saying that I am still working the next day. But he reminded me that he is not working, it's his off day. Now then I realized, it's true, my last cup of coffee for him.

After work, I went down to Wheelock place to meet evelyn, michelle, jayden (michelle's nephew) and shunyu for dinner at Skinny Pizza. It's a farewell dinner. The pizzas there are really special and unique, all sorts of flavours which I never see before and never thought of having that on a pizza. The crust for the pizza is really thin, no wonder is called the Skinny Pizza. We had two pizzas, the english type and a mutton curry one. Jayden don't like pizzas, so he had fish and chips. For sides, we had sausages and squid ink risotto. For desserts, we had a chocolate cake and banana cake. The desserts are DAMM GOOD. I LOVE THE CHOCOLATE CAKE. The chocolate cake still got chocolate at the side, furthermore is being warmed up, so you can imagine, warm chocolate cake with chocolate......feels so good when swallowing that down. The banana cake is quite special too, still got salty popcorns inside and by the side to go with it. LOVE PASTRIES! Thank you evelyn and michelle for the meal! Oh, not forgetting the farewell present I got from michelle.

I went home by train with michelle and jayden. They alighted at Ang Mo Kio and we bade farewell. I gave michelle and pat on the shoulder and thanked her for the meal and the present. She gave me a pat on the head. They alighted and still bade farewell outside the carriage through the window. At that moment, seeing them waving their hands, I realized that fact that, it's my last time seeing michelle. I won't be working with her anymore and not be able to see her anymore everyday. She sort of just disappearing from my life though we can still meet up. But, it's just different.

On the way back home, memories I had in Bunalun this half a year started to appear in my mind. Everything just keep flowing. From christmas, when nick and grady are still at bunalun, while I'm still learning how to make a good cup of coffee, till nick and grady leave bunalun, 'godma' being nasty to me, michelle being closer to me after so many dinners we had after work, caterings which some required me to stay back to prepare, cleaning up of the office which is a horror, chern yu came in as chef then follow by andy, having staff meal together, learn how to make orders from suppliers, having fun and relaxing time at work with michelle when 'godma' is not around, almost having yuting to come in as new staff, having my 19th birthday with michelle and wan and the list goes on. All the good and bad times both appear in my mind, one after another. Now, I truly realized that it's really ending. My job at Bunalun will end today (29/06/2011).

Later when I start work at 11am, it will be my last time stepping into Bunalun as a staff, last time punching my card for attendance, last time making coffee using such coffee machine, last time to clean the shop, last time to do closing and last time to lock the door. I realized this because of chern yu saying last time making coffee for him. It's really the last time. I really will miss my days in Bunalun, though there are bad days, but they are part and parcel of my life there. I will also miss my colleague at Bunalun. The people there really took care of me. When I need help the most, they are most willing to help me. Like chefs coming out to serve the food when I cannot cope due to the crowd as I am the only one at the shop. Chefs helped to me to clear the plates away when I am busy serving other customers. Michelle and chefs will help me buy lunch if I cannot go out to eat because I'm stuck at the shop. Evelyn gave me food when my 'godma' didn't have time to come down and look after the shop to release me for break. Evelyn and chern yu helped me clear plates when I am busy with work. Andy even came out to look after the shop for me so that I can finish my lunch. He is also observant enough to place the food in such a way that I prefer when taking food from the small window. And of course, not forgetting, Michelle, the best supervisor, best shifu, best friend and best sister. She is the one who taught me whatever she knows and make my learning at Bunalun to be a fun and fruitful one. I gain a lot of knowledge on food, people, service and life skills that are useful for my life in the future. My working experience at Bunalun really exposed me to a lot of things which I never come across before. I am glad that I have a chance to work in Bunalun and learn from michelle. Though my 'godma' is someone whom I never want to meet or work with at work, but she is the one who show me how bad a human character can be. She is the worst person whom I ever met in my 19 years of life. And because of my encounter on such person, I suppose I will be able to handle people with similar character like her in the future as I am sure there will be a black sheep in most company.

Now that I am leaving, I really can't bear it. All this will come to an end and I will start a new life when university starts. I will miss michelle the most. She is the one who let me know how it is to be dote by a big sister. I am the eldest in the family, so normally it's me who will take care of my siblings. I never get the chance to be taken care of by a big sister or big brother. I am not very close with those cousins who are older than me, in fact, I am closer to those cousins who are younger than me. This explains why. But this is no longer valid until I met michelle. She is like a big sister, always taking care of shunyu and I, help us when we need help and most importantly, is from her heart. She really treat us as if we are her real younger sisters. She is the first stranger whom I met who took care of me so well. I'm glad that I met her in my life. Now that I'm leaving, I really feel sad and thus like what yingjie did when we are leaving school for O levels. Hence, I truly understand why yingjie cried that day. It's like leaving someone so close to us, how can I not be sad? I know it's just a phone call away, but still, it's different. Someone whom I see almost everyday will now not appear in my life that often.

I'm having mixed emotions. You may think I am exaggerating but that's really how I feel now. You will be like me when it's your turn. Like how I understand now why yingjie cried that day.

I had a gathering with NAKED after work at Everything with Fries @ holland village. We had dinner together and chat at the same time. I had the Battered fish sandwich with curry straight cut fries. It's not my first time dining here, my first time was with michelle and shunyu. We had the salmon in a cup as the main which I think it's too expensive for the small portion that they gave and the taste is weird too. Not very nice.

Looks appealing, taste GOOD too! I like the fish! No fishy taste and is smooth too, though it kinda break into pieces when being picked up. 

Straight cut fries are awesome! 

Anyway, so after we had our dinner, something weird happened. One moment, everyone seems to look towards my direction, something is behind me. Thus, I turned around and saw the waitress holding a tart with a  lighted candle on it. I was wondering.....for who? No one at our table is having her birthday today.......because of the wind they need to lit the candle again, I was puzzled cause they are really going to place the tart on out table. Then I realized, it's for me.......-.- Didn't see it coming, and there goes.....'Happy Birthday day to you.....' I was really surprised. Other than the nutella tart (I forgot to take a photo of that!) I got a dairy from NAKED too. The dairy is really pretty with a vintage feel. Love the vintage style! But it's not just a diary, it contains lovely photos and messages from NAKED! Also got a necklace which is supplied by qinning but NAKED shared the cost. Really appreciate what they did for me. Thanks! After that, we took a group photo too.

So it was a surprising night for me. But that was not all. I borrowed qinning's plain tee for tomorrow's medical checkup. When I reached home, I opened up the presents and then checked the plain tee if it fits me. When I was about to pull it out of the bag, I saw another bag in it and it was hidden and wrapped up by the plain tee. IT WAS ANOTHER PRESENT. Of course, this is definitely from qinning. Again, another surprise, didn't know she will put it there. I opened it and WOW, it was the swallow top that she bought for her blogshop. It is really VERY PRETTY! Love it!

Wah, really, what a night! This year's birthday is the best one ever I have in my entire 19 years of life. Filled with surprises. First it was from michelle and wan, now it's from NAKED. Thank you everyone! :)

It was my off day, went out with tzumi and headed to town. Earlier on, we bought a deal from groupon, it was to have a Cherry Snapper Fish n Chips meal at Manhattan Fish Market for just $6 instead of the usual $13.90. Such a great deal!!! We head over to the Central and had our lunch there. It was my first time dining there, the fish was not bad just that it had a really strong fishy taste as compared to long john sliver, maybe is because of the fish they use.

Definitely worth the price of $6 but not $13.90.....

During payment then I realized tzumi is treating me for my birthday. Got another birthday treat! Haha. Thanks!

After that we went to chinatown to stocked up our 'stock'. The 'stock' I'm referring to is the Facial Moisturizer Lotion which we bought from this shop in people's park complex. This lotion is REALLY GOOD! When we first visit the shop the last time, the shop owner introduced this lotion to us. It helps to keep our face moisturized and thus will look and feel like baby skin! If you don't believe me, try putting some on your hand and see the difference by comparing the part after applying the lotion and those which you did not apply. You will definitely feel the difference just by touching it! Not only tzumi and I think it's good, even my mum tried using mine and think so too! So that day, I bought 2 bottles back home, heehee. Tzumi bought 1 too but she bought another item which is suppose to help her to slim down her face. Let's see if she can successfully slim down her face with it. The Facial Moisturizer Lotion costs $25 originally, we got discount from the seller and got it at $22 per bottle and each of us even got one facial mask for free. I got 2 masks from him the last time for free. They are great. The shop is situated at Blk 32, #03-1020 People's Park New Market Road Singapore 050032, operation hours is from 1pm to 8pm. I even called the shop owner, steven to check if there are stocks for the lotion as the last time we came the stocks just arrived after being OOS for some time.

Will continue to use it for as long as I can.......unless there is something better than this

Then we headed down to The plaza singapura to watch a horror movie - Laddaland. It was a thai horror movie, NC16. This is really so much more scary than insidious. But it was not very nice as there isn't any plot, so a bit meaningless. I prefer insidious as there is a plot.

We then went to 313 to for window shopping, everywhere we went, we will see the word 'SALE' since it's the great singapore sale. I gotta control as I need to save money for my taiwan trip at the end of this month. I was controlling well and I started to be unstable once we stepped into the MANGO shop at 313. It was have a GREAT sale, discount was up to 50%!!! Everyone inside is like busying squeezing through each other and getting what they want. The queue for fitting room was VERY LONG, it stretched from one end of the shop to the other end. Tzumi was looking at some clothes and I looked at their bags as I need to get a bag for school/play. I need a bag which has a long shoulder strap, big enough for me to put lots of things and something that is versatile. I saw this black tote bag on the shelf and took it. It FULFILLED  ALL 3 POINTS mentioned above. I was so happy and had a peek at the price........EVEN HAPPIER! It was supposed to be at $99 but due to the GSS, I can get it at $59. GREAT DEAL! But now the problem is, the versatility. The fact that it's black, to me, it's versatile. But it doesn't go with the dusty pink shirt dress that I was wearing that day. I am very particular about a bag being versatile with all the clothes I have, so I took some time to ponder whether to buy it or not. We went to F21, New Look and finally back to MANGO. After the last look, I decided to BUY it. I think it's really difficult to find a bag that fits my needs perfectly, so I have to buy it. Furthermore, it's on discount. I did checked with the sales person over there and they  say there is a light brown colour for this bag but we couldn't find any on the shelves, so no choice. I got the black one. At the counter, I saw my MANGO wallet which i bought earlier this year as this branch too. It was also on sale. Tzumi grabbed it and prevented me from looking at the price but I insisted. OMG......*jaw-dropped* It was going at $19!!!!!!!!! But I bought it at $35......=.= Felt so cheated. But one thing to console myself is that the one I bought is flawless. Because can see very clearly that there are some scratches and black markings on those which are going for $19......

I hope I won't regret buying the tote bag, because of the versatility....but truly speaking the design is nice, just that the colour doesn't suit the shirt dress I wore that day.

I had a gathering with lilin, shunyu, yingjie and yunqi at holland village's swensen. It's not only a gathering but also a birthday treat for me. Thanks for the meal! I had the curry baked rice pasta and went for the set meal. The soup of the day was mushroom soup and for the choice of ice cream I had the blackforest. Other than the meal, shunyu made a very nice pop-up birthday card for me. They all written their message for me too.

It's my duty that day. I was surprised the first thing I came in for work. My 'godma' was busying doing web order and I was by her side helping her to call some supplier. Out of no where, a present popped in front of me while I was still on the phone. My 'godma' said, 'This is for you.....your birthday (I'm not too sure she said this, but I am sure she said the word birthday)' I was like....WHAT?!?!? How come she know it was my birthday a few days back? Then all my question marks suddenly make sense. Earlier on, on the 14 june on my birthday, I sort of had a conflict with her which made me feel guilty too. On the 15 june, it was my off day, so didn't meet my 'godma'. So I was expected some nagging and questionings from her when I'm back on the 16 june. But to my surprise, not much noise from her. And now, on the 17 june she gave me a present. This shows that she knew my birthday was on the 14 june and she also felt guilty for treating me that way on my birthday, so maybe that's why she gave me a present. But the question is, who told her it was my birthday? It wasn't shunyu or michelle, it must be wan then......

Anyway, her present....right. It was o...k....but I don't know if I have a bad impression of her that's why I think that she is treating me like a dustbin. She gave me this 5ml of perfume and a koala bear wearing 'I LOVE AUSTRALIA' top. I smelled the perfume, it was exactly the same smell that I find in her bag. The 5ml perfume must be a freebie or a sample she got. She don't want to waste it then give it to me. The koala bear must be from her daughter who just came back from australia. All this makes sense right? Hais, or is it I am thinking too much......but anyway, it's her sincerity that counts.

Happy Birthday to Me!

It's my 19th birthday today (14 June). Time really files and I am almost 20. I feel kinda old already. I mean it, 20! I hope my life will be more exciting and smooth too. I'm not saying that it's not exciting and smooth now, I just wish that it will be better in the future.

Today started work well, everything was fine till the end of the day. Things start to crop up last minute and I have to do so many things last minute! Worst still, I even need to cab down to CPF building to help my boss to submit a form. This is ridiculous! I am just a 19 year old young adult and you want me to go to this building to submit a form? How would I know where it is? Nevermind, since I am here to work, I just accept it. Just do it then. After a while, she even wanted me to go settle some bill at american express which is near CK tang I suppose? She is the one who say that the two places are not some where near to each other. So since she knows that, what for ask me to go these two places to do errands after my working hours? Also, I am not sure if my boss will pay me for settling his bills. Furthermore, am I suppose to cab back home which I can claim or take mrt or bus home and pay the transportation fee myself? All these things started to appear in my mind and makes me feel so sick on this very special day of mine. Why? In the end, I just say I dunno the places and she just say she will do it herself instead of asking me to do it. Well, I do feel kinda guilty as I didn't help her but can she understand how I feel when she asked me to do such errands? It's really a pain.

So I didn't need to do anything errands but my day is just gone because of this incident. Luckily, Michelle called and she intended to gave me a surprise but failed in the end, also because of her. This is so funny. Normally if you were to give a birthday surprise, you are to collect the cake and go find the person without him or her knowing right? But since surprise is failed, michelle has no choice but to call me and ask me to go to crystal jade to collect my cakes and go find her at the warehouse. I was controlling myself not to laugh when collecting the cake. Worst still, I still need to check if the name on the cupcakes are correct and the numbers of candles are correct too. EPIC! So I collected my birthday cake and cabbed down to warehouse to find michelle and wan and celebrated my birthday with them.

I was very full after the meal. I had a great time today at the meal, nice chatting and eating with them. This year's birthday is so special and unique because of them. THANK YOU MICHELLE AND WAN! They are just like my big brother and sister. I am the eldest in the family, so I do not have the chance to be dote by elder sisters or brothers. After working here and got to know them, they are just my big brother and sister who will be there taking care of me, helping me and guiding me along the way. I'm glad to have them as my friend, teacher aka shifu and brother and sister. I will definitely remember them even after I graduated from the company because they gave me a lot of memorable memories. I really appreciate all the things they had done for me. Thank you once again.

I went out with yingjie to catch a movie - Kungfu Panda 2 at causeway point. There's a huge change at causeway point as it is undergoing renovation, sure will be a crowded place after the renovation. The movie is so funny! The story line is really touching also, especially the part when Po found out about his parents and his past. I can get easily touched by such scenes. I learned something from Po through this movie, the skill of INNER PEACE. I have to tolerate and this skill will definitely be useful if you were to work in Bunalun. *INNER PEACE* We had lunch at banquet, I ate this hotplate chicken noodle, looks good and tastes good.

Furthermore, it's only $4.50!

After our lunch, we have nothing much to do, so decided to catch another movie, Insidious. The cathay at causewaypoint don't have this movie so we went to yishun. We are so blur, went into Northpoint then found out that cinema is not in the mall but the building next to it. We got to know it after asking the service counter, so embarrassed. We went over to the building next to Northpoint and bought our tickets. We were really excited and scared at the same time cause it's a horror movie afterall. I heard from tzumi that is really nice so went for it. It was really VERY SCAR but exciting at the same time. It is till the extend that I even perspired in the cold cinema. I call this 冒冷汗. After the show, yingjie kept on saying that she won't be able to sleep, will have nightmare.....and it was my fault. Haha, but I really didn't know that she is that timid. But at least she went into the cinema and watched the movie......

10/06/2011:
I worked till about 8.30pm as the next day there's catering so need to wash the cups to prepare for the catering. Of course, there's a machine that helps us to wash the cups but the process is just way too slow, so took quite some time. After that, met elena as she came all the way to visit me at work though she didn't see me at work. I had a great time with her that day. She treated my Cold Rock ice cream for my coming birthday. It was my first time eating Cold Rock, I had chocolate mint + bubblegum ice cream with brownie. The bubblegum ice cream is really special, not bad afterall. We chatted for some time and laughed a lot too, our conversation was funny as a lot are so random chats. Though I don't really know elena VERY well, but she is really a nice and warm person whom I think is really worth befriending. I'm glad to know her as a friend. We took bus 106 and she alighted at the clementi station. Even on the bus, funny incidents happened! Interesting day! Before she alighted she gave me a birthday present, I was surprised to receive it cause I thought she already gave me one at Cold Rock.

Elena even made a card for me, so sweet of her!

I had Cold Rock for the first time and now, also because of her, I get to eat Famous Amos cookie for the first time too. I had quite a lot of first time that day. Please don't say I am sua-gu...cause everyone always have their first time right? Haha. This is also my first birthday present for this year. I really appreciate the gift and really many thanks, elena.

I knocked off at 6pm that day but since I have nothing to do thus accompanied michelle till closing and we had dinner together. We didn't know what to eat and chose the Korean BBQ restaurant at Holland Village. We had the bbq set for 2, quite expensive though, it's about $90 plus altogether after service charge and GST. The food there is nice, special for me as I never had traditional korean food before.

This is before we start eating, need to wait for the charcoal to start burning. So we had appetizers  while waiting. See that basket of veggie? It's for us to wrap the bbq meat, taste nice together.

Charcoal is finally burning, can start to BBQ! See, there's really a lot of side dishes. Korean tradition.....

I forgot to take the photo of the stew that is included in the bbq set. We had the kimchi stew which michelle didn't eat much as it is spicy. I didn't know kimchi are spicy as the kimchi I had are not spicy at all. But the stew is realy very nice, thick and spicy, love it! It goes very well with the rice. I like the kimchi here too, way better than those served in food court. I hope one day I will be able to eat kimchi from korea or even in korea. There is also dessert for the bbq set.....but is disappointing, they served watermelon. =.= But at least their watermelons are heart-shapes. Haha. Overall I like the food there, but is expensive. Furthermore as you can see in the picture, the amount of meat given for 2 people are not much too.

05/06/2011:
Went to the photo shoot for qinning's blogshop today. Before heading for the photo shoot qinning and thitipat had dinner at the food court in bugis junction. I joined them later as I had a late lunch thus bought happy lemon instead. After being in love with Matcha with adzuki beans, I decided to try the mousse spin too but the with the Lemon Yakult flavour. It taste so normal! As if drinking ice blended original yakult flavour, didnt really taste any lemon in it. Hais, but it's filling, since I didn't have any dinner.

We went to the candle boutique for the photo shoot. It was really a new experience for me. The photographer is esther and the model is joan. Thitipat and I are the helper of the day, help qinning whatever we can. It was really new for me as I never been to a studio for a photo shoot. I learnt some new things too like the camera is actually connected to the big lamps through this remote thing that is attached to the camera. I hope the photos will turn out well and all the best to qinning's blogshop. She is launching her first collection soon. I will post her blog link here when she launch. :)

7th Dental Appointment

Today went to the clinic to remove my stitch and the process took about 1 minute or even less then that. I just laid there, the dentist cut something in my mouth pulled out something and ask me to rinse my mouth. He gave me a special kind of syringe which I can use it to clean the hole at the back of my mouth so that no food will be stuck in there. But I need not use to forever as the hole will disappear in about 1 week or 1 month. I cannot remember what the dentist said but as long as it disappear, it is good enough. Haha.

And..........*YAY*, booked the plane tickets to taiwan just now and I get to leave earlier due to the changes in dates as the price of the plane tickets are too expensive now. And the countdown to taiwan trip starts today, 28 days to go. HEEHEE, must continue to control and not buy any clothes this month, need save up for taiwan trip......so EXCITED!!!
