Overdue

I know my birthday is like 2 weeks ago, but I still want to blog about it. So on my birthday, I was suppose to have a day out with shunyu. But just so happen michelle is meeting the al dente peeps for buffet so shunyu and I join in too. In the previous post, I did mention that yingjie couldn't make it on my birthday so came out and chill with me the day before right? She actually appeared at the buffet too! What's worst, I didn't even find her suspicious when I see her at raffles city when I first reached. I thought she was meeting her friend there etc, I feel so silly can!

Anyway, so we had buffet at buffet town. It was not bad. They even make cakes out from small cakes, ice cream and waffles for me as my birthday cake. So many people help me celebrate my birthday this year......:) And it was michelle's 2nd time to celebrate on my birthday itself. I'm really glad to meet her in my life.

After that shunyu, yingjie and I went to catch madagascar at cineleisure then had dinner at swensen. There's another surprise too! Shinfen was there sitting there already! Didn't expect her to be there......so we chat and had dinner. It was my first time having chocolate fondue there too. Not bad! The chocolate was nice~~~

Then shunyu on her laptop and wanted to show me some videos. I knew it from the start when I see her carrying her laptop. The videos must be from jiaying and tzumi. But they say NO....I'm only 50% right. I was like huh? Still got who?

After I watched the videos then I realized I'm really not even 50% right. There were 2 videos and one was from jiaying and the other was from tzumi. But in tzumi's videos, she asked 3 of her medicine friends to join in. It was SO FUNNY can! I was surprised to see that they can say out my name and say hi to me so naturally as if they know me in person like that! One of the guys took out his guitar and started to play the birthday song. First time having a guitar to accompany my birthday song. :D :D :D

Jiaying was CUTE also! The korean version birthday song she lip-synced is so cute and comical! Her video was long and all filled with heartfelt words. Really touched to watch her video. And she mentioned that she might not be back in singapore at the end of the year......not sure when we can meet in person again, but I hope it will be soon ya? Just hope she can have a stopover at singapore or what......the four of us need to be reunion again~~~:D :D :D

That day was really filled with surprises......all thanks to shunyu for planning all these. Must have gone through a lot......

I also went for an OG outing not long ago. We had dinner at fish & co at park mall and the table was SUPER long. There were around 23-25 of us. The outing was a gathering to meet up because many are flying already and also to celebrate the may, june and july babies. So I got card and present from them! I asked my friend's sister's friend to help me buy TOMS from UK and they paid a portion of it so it's considered a present from dastan (OG's name). I really love it TTM! Although this wasn't the design I was looking out for but is still so PRETTY!!!

Went out yesterday after work at ascotts! Wah I think is the caffein, I wasn't very tired....maybe cos of the movie I watching also. I woke up at 6am, work till 3pm. Then change out my uniform and went lido to buy tickets for Sadako 3D, 11.50pm!!! Because I'm watching with liting, tiffany and shunyu then liting got work so have to watch it after her work. Liting and tiffany are my new friends whom I met over at al dente! The queue was SUPER long. All must be buying tickets for the spiderman movie, it was selling fast as shown on the screen.

Then I went to starbucks to meet shunyu who is queuing for the 1-for-1 drink! Green tea with red beans and hojicha with tea jelly! The green tea is NICE! I prefer the green tea than hojicha. Not sweet also! :)

We sat there and chat for VERY LONG. Once we got our drinks, which is around 4pm? We chatted like nobody business till 6pm plus, almost 7pm! It was good! :)

We had dinner at Xin wang cafe, first time dining there and I tried there hot yuan yang and fried noodles. Their yuan yang was more of coffee than tea, which shunyu doesn't like. I don't mind because I need all the caffein I need to survive the night. 

This fried noodle, not only look appealing, but taste good also! Worth to try! Especially if you are a noodle lover! I never really tasted this kind of noodle before, a new taste for me I would say! :)

Sadako was not really very scary, but the 3D effects are not bad. And really it's true, better to watch it in 3D. The horror and scary level is not that high, I started off my 2 hands on my face and not even halfway through the movie I'm already using one hand just to hold up the 3D specs and cover my eyes just in case something pop out! Hahahhahaha.......

今年的生日有点不一样，我两位好朋友不在新加坡，不能和我过生日。每年我们四个都会聚在一起吃饭，聊天，虽简单但已经足够了。

勤宁也帮我过了生日，还给了我个小惊喜，谢谢你！

今天颖洁还特地邀我和顺玉出来聊天，算是帮我庆祝。因为今天她没空。就因为这样，当她送我们回家时，害她爸爸的车子轮胎爆胎！因为我突然出声，害她吓了一跳，转弯时车子撞上路傍，结果轮胎整个坏了，开起来时非常不顺。结果下车一看，原来以爆胎了！我还真过意不去……

我的朋友虽不多，但有这几位好友，我真的已经很满足了。

但说真的，人还是贪心的，不是吗？我希望我能放开一点，在交多一点朋友，让我的社交圈子能再大一点。即使不是很要好，但至少他们可以和我有共同的话题等等…

Free = bored???

This week I only need to work on friday and weekends, so from monday to thursday, I AM SO FREE. Thus, I used this time to finish reading  步步惊心. I finished it this afternoon. This is only part 1 so gonna go borrow part 2! But have to resort to booking the book as is impossible to borrow it off the shelf.

Things accomplished:

1)  步步惊心 part 1
The book is really exactly the same as the show, scenes just appeared right in front of me as I read the book. This proves that the show is really a success, I can still remember it vividly.

Since the job at Al Dente is not stable, like this week only 2 working days for me, so I decided to find another job which has a higher pay. Through a uni friend, I got a job at ascotts raffles place. It is a hotel, I will be working as a server like what I did in Al Dente, just that is a French restaurant. My friend, Lina, went to work today and she said is quite relaxing as is not busy. Basically zuo bo and get paid. It's a freaking $8 per hour, $2 more than Al Dente! But I won't quit my job at Al Dente, gonna have these 2 jobs and work through my holidays! I'm having morning shift at ascotts and night shift at Al Dente, so they won't clash. For weekdays, both places won't be busy so I can work both day and night I guess. But for weekends, Al Dente will be busy, so I won't take the risk of working in the day too.

The reason I want to do this is because I want to earn more money and gain more experience this holiday. I want to learn as much as I can so that I won't waste my time away. And furthermore, I'm still young, need to make full use of my energy now before I get old. :)

By working, I also gain another benefit which is slimming down. I know that this slimming is short term but better than nothing? Haha, easy and not tiring, don't need  to persevere also. Haha. And I mean it, once I start to work at Al Dente, I lose 1-2 kg. Maybe because I have lesser meals on certain days and at the same time, I stand most of the time, so hardly sit down like what I do when I study. SO THUMBS UP!!! Haha......hope I won't gain it back when school starts. But I doubt it won't.....:(

Although I don't need to work from monday to thursday, I still have to give tuition on monday and wednesday but that's only in the evening. Tomorrow going out to have lunch with shunyu and yingjie since yingjie can't make it on thursday. We going starbucks to have lunch and chill! So long never go starbucks le....what you know what? We going the NUS branch.....cause I have tuition at 3.30pm and shunyu have to rush home to prepare for work too....so gotta find a branch that is nearby so that yingjie can send us home asap. Good to have a car around.....then thursday supposedly to celebrate my birthday with shunyu, but end up the part timers are meeting michelle for lunch and we intend to go vineyard to find michelle on that day too. Since she is not working, she ask us to collaborate with others and have lunch together. So yeah, thursday having lunch with michelle and other part timers, then maybe after that can catch a movie or something.

Shunyu told me she gives me a warranty that I will be very happy at the end of the day.....seems like she is planning something and I really dunno what is it. Or maybe I am just sensitive? I just want to spend the day with my close friends and yupp....that will do....need not be any surprise or what......just a simple one will do. :)

Early birthday surprise yesterday!

Qinning wanted to come my house to collect her top that was mailed to my house. I really didn't expect that she will give me a surprise with the present and the oreo cheesecake. The reason was we already agree to meet up after she come back from bangkok. Really didn't see it coming.

She left the present and cheesecake at the doorstep. My doorbell doesn't work so I went out to welcome her after seeing her what's app message. Only saw 2 bags on the doorstep. She even went to the lift lobby to hide? Haha.

Here's my very first 20th birthday present!

Ate the oreo cheesecake for supper yesterday night......hmmm....I wouldn't say is not nice, not bad. But the biscuit that part is not nicely done, once my fork went in, the biscuits fall off into pieces......then the cheese that part is kinda hard......but I really appreciate it! It was handmade with love! Thank you qinning! There's always room for improvement isn't it? :D

For the clothes, I totally didn't know she will buy that for me. Never ever suspect that because she's buying, so thought she is just asking for my opinions. End up she bought one for me! Thank you again! I really love the prints but the bottom is kinda flare, have to wear safety shorts. Nevertheless, is still pretty! :D

It's really good to have birthday during holidays. No work, no stress....can totally enjoy it even if there's no celebration or what. So I'm turning 20. My twenties will officially start in 3 days time. Sounds old isn't it? I really think so.....talking to primary or even secondary school kids just make me feel dammmmm old. Is like 5 more years, I'm 25 which is a time to find steady partner. Then another 5 years when I'm 30, is time to settle down and start family. All these in just 10 years. 10 years sounds long but I just feel that time files at the speed of light this year, so don't think 10 years is very long.......oh well.....enjoy what I have now~~~~

Recently didn't watch any dramas online or what....still reading 步步惊心, finishing it soon........

Anyway, I'm adapting well to the job at Al Dente. As day passed by, I know more and getting the hang of it already. So now, I don't really have much problems. The people there are really nice. Part timers are around my age so more common topics. Then although the full timers are older then me, they are my teachers during work but friends during break time and off work. I would say I'm really enjoying my job. Not only I get to learn about italian food, I get to train myself to be more confident when talking to customers etc. I hope things will continue to be smooth there......*cross my fingers*

Working at Al Dente

Yesterday was my 7th day at Al Dente, I'm slowly getting the hang of it. But I dunno why.....ever since that incident happened, whenever it get's a little busy, I'll definitely make some mistakes here and there.....

And so, what's that incident? It was a saturday, there were many reservations and walk in customers. It was crowded for both indoor and rooftop. I was working on the rooftop that day. So one table of caucasians were finished with their food and drinks. After clearing their plates and cutleries, I decided to continue to clear their wine glasses. From far, I can see that most of their wine glasses are empty. I wanted to just clear them 2 by 2 using my hands. But in the end, I decided to take a tray with me and clear it using the tray. I placed 4 wine glasses on my tray and when I was reaching for the 5th glass, I think I didn't realize as I bend my body, my hand which was holding the tray start to tilt too. And one wine glass came falling down.......it landed right behind a customer on his chair. I was shocked to see that scene. I can still remember it vividly, the details and all. Some glass bits even went to the customers's slippers. I immediately clear the glasses away and luckily my colleague came to help me. I cleared those big glass pieces and he used the broom to sweep away those smaller ones. I apologized to the customers a few times and asked him if he's hurt or what. He was so kind...still smiled at me and said he's alright and everything is fine, it's okay.....I felt so bad. Why did I even stop and get the tray? If I didn't do that such a thing won't have happened. 

Now I kinda hava a phobia when using tray to send or collect stuffs. I'm really scared the same thing will happen again. Now I only stop at 3 or 4 mugs on a tray and I never use trays to collect wine glasses.....it's just too scary. 

From then on, I made mistakes here and there when it's busy. Like yesterday.....I met this customer who keep on asking me questions till I lose focus on what he wanted to order. I have in mind that he wanted pumpkin risotto...but I left out the part in front. He ordered veal shank on pumpkin risotto and not fungi on pumpkin risotto that I keyed in. In my mind, there's only pumpkin risotto, I never thought of veal shank. *sigh* this caused a great trouble for one of the full timers who helped me to settle it. Then things doesn't go smoothly from that point onwards. 

I took order for a group of chinese and when I'm back from clearing some other table, another full timer found a problem with that group of chinese. I was like.....not again? Did I do something wrong? The full timer went down immediately and after attending to the group of chinese. She came back and told me about it. The chinese ordered an all meat pizza which consists of beef but they told the full timer they can't eat beef so have to go down to the kitchen and settle this order. But the full timer did ask if they inform me that they can't eat beef and luckily they said the truth. They didn't tell me so I just go ahead and place order for the all meat pizza. 

Then I think with all these, my mind is kinda freaked out and mentally tired. The machine printed out a order of 4 tiger beers and I didn't see the table number and told the bartender to make it. Then after when they realized no one ordered that. We went back to check the table number for that order and saw that it was the previous batch of customers. That machine will sometimes print out orders for the previous tables etc. So......wasted 4 mugs of tiger beers......T.T

Tomorrow is a saturday and I'm working! I seriously pray hard that I won't make any more silly mistakes. If not, I seriously just go bang wall already......
