3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th dental appointment

11/04/2011 (3rd):
Not much difference from the last one. I extracted 3 teeth from on the right. The process is much faster maybe the dentist knew that I went through this the previous time so didn't go easy on me. In the end I think he didn't give me as much anastasia as compared to the last time so I felt some pain during the injection.

18/04/2011 (4th):
Happy day for me as I finally get to put on my braces! I found out that the brackets are actually glued onto my teeth. The dentist apply some transparent liquid (some sort of glue i think) then slowly one by one glue the brackets on each on my teeth. Then she put on the wire and ask me to choose the colour. I pointed purple on the colour palette. The coloured ones are actually bands which tie the wire onto the brackets. The whole process took about 30 mins and I'm out. I had to buy interdental brush to keep my teeth clean as food might stuck in between my teeth which are unreachable with just toothbrush. So from that day onwards, after every meal if I manage to go to the toilet I will definitely clean my teeth with the brush.

04/05/2011 (5th):
The dentist discovered that my upper left wisdom tooth is out and lower left wisdom tooth is grown horizontally. She advised me to get them removed as the one at the bottom is not easy to clean as my toothbrush will not be able to reach it since it sort of hidden and short too. If decay happens, then it will be undesirable furthermore I am having braces. Thus, my 5th dental appointment is actually the consultation for the extraction and surgery for my wisdom teeth. The top one is out so just a normal extraction will do but the bottom one is still hidden thus need a surgery. The surgery includes cutting the gum, cutting the tooth into pieces, remove them and stitch the gum back. Since it is a surgery after all, so there's risk too. The risk is having 1% of hurting and damaging the nerve at my chin permanently. I can pay the whole treatment by using my parent's CPF.

25/05/2011 (6th):
I had the surgery today. I didn't feel any fear or worry about the surgery as it seems just another extraction of teeth, just like the ones I had for my braces. But the setting is so much different from those sessions I had for braces.

Once I layed down, they double checked the teeth I am extracting and gave me anastasia. And I realised they gave me a lot more this time which is good too. And now the differences came in. They placed a green cloth (just like those you see on tv when there is an operation scene) on my body and another on COVERING my face, but of course there is an opening at my mouth. Then they started to extract my upper wisdom tooth since it is easier. The dentist pulled and the tooth came out immediately. Now the difficult one. The dentist tried pulling it but to no avail. No choice, he had to cut the tooth into a few pieces. How he cut? He actually sort of 'saw' my tooth with three 'cut'. The sound was so loud, it was going 'e...ee....e...e...e.....e..e....e.....eeeeeeee' (just read the alphabet) in my head, vibrating at a high speed. After the three 'cut', they started to remove and pull out the different pieces of my teeth. Throughout the 'cutting' of my teeth, my eyes were closed, there is no way I can open my eyes. After all the noise, they cleaned up my wound and started to stitch it back. I peeked through the cloth as there was an opening at my mouth there. I saw the long string that is extending from my mouth to the hand of the dentist. The dentist's hand went in twice and the nurse cut the string. And everything is done in about 15 mins? I sat in the recovery room for about an hour or so and left the place. I have to go on soft diet for the whole week and have to go back to remove the stitch one week from today. I got the list of medicine which I need to collect from the pharmacy. I thought is just one or two medicine, but turned out to be 5 types. Yes, 5. 2 types are pain killer, 1 for inflammation, 1 is an antibiotic and there is 1 bottle of mouthwash for gargling.

And these are my wisdom teeth, see the different pieces from my lower wisdom tooth. The largest one is my upper wisdom tooth which is a whole.

I wonder how they will remove my stitch next week.......

♥ Ice cream ♥

I love desserts and pastry, really love them so much. They can be cakes, bread, chocolates and the list goes on.

Ever since I started working at Bunalun, I got to know this place which sells unique ice cream, the Daily Scoop, just a few store away from Bunalun. I like that concept of the shop especially the prints on the walls which make the whole shop so lively, suitable for young and old to hang out, even family too. What I like the most about this shop is the variety of ice cream it serves, really a lot and unique too. I tried their ice cream with brownie and waffle, not that fantastic but worth to try. So I really recommend the ice cream there. The flavours I like are: Green tea with red bean, Utterly Avocado, Honey Vanilla, Hei! Sesame, Durian (this flavour is a must try for durian lover!).

I bought 2 tubs of ice cream from Daily Scoop on 24/05/2011 for my family to try. Each tub cost $9.50. I bought the Hei! Sesame and Green tea with red bean.

Other than that I also love another place's ice cream. It's Island Creamery. As compared to Daily Scoop though the ice cream there are not that unique and the choices are lesser too, but the sides which go with their ice cream are fantastic. On 20/05/2011, I went Island Creamery with Shunyu after work. I ordered nutella ice cream with brownie while Shunyu ordered nutella ice cream with larva cake. The brownie and larva cake are pipping hot and are really fantastic as compared to Daily Scoop's. I LOVE their sides there. Other than these two, there are apple pie and waffle to choose from too.

Da Paolo Gastronomia

11/05/2011, Wednesday:
Michelle's aunt from the noodle shop came and looked for her and bought her a Da Paolo's cake, the nutella cake. She didnt have it in the end gave it to me. I had it for breakfast today, it's good, but don't really have much surprise as it seems just like another chocolate cake to me.

I bought a chocolate mint cake the other day and had it after work. It contains some liquor, not bad, the minty taste is not as strong as i expected. 

Got 2 free masks from the seller whom i bought hydrating face lotion from. I tried the hydrating one which is the yellow packet last week. It was my first time having mask, feel refreshing and the mask is really wet seems like there's lots of 'good stuff' soaked in it and be transferred to my face, haha. The pink one is for whitening, will try it some other day. 

14/05/2011, Saturday:

Off with shunyu, managed to do that as we need to go ntu's tea party session. The talk is not very good as the speakers are boring, cannot really catch what they are talking about but luckily the last speaker made up for those previous ones. 

Then we went to meet tzumi at dhoby ghaut and tzumi had just-asia for lunch. Shunyu and i didnt have any cos we had buffet at ntu before that. We sat there for 2-3 hours to discuss and plan about the taiwan trip which we will be going in july. SO EXCITED ABOUT IT! But still, got 1 and a half months to go.......

After the planning, we went plaza singapura for dinner at Ajisen. It's my first time dining there but heard quite a few people saying that their ramen is good. And the truth is, it is good. I had the spicy ramen:

We had dessert too, it's ice cream pancake. I think i saw this in You're beautiful, the korean drama, theirs are much bigger as the ice cream in the pancake is so much more as compared to those below. I had the green tea flavour ice cream pancake. Shunyu wanted the red bean one, but item 86 already so she had the green tea flavour too. Not bad, i like it, but it will be better if there is more ice cream filling.

Actually out set meal consists of a side dish too, but i forgot to take a photo of it! T.T Nevermind, i will definitely dine in there again as the food is nice and price is still acceptable. 

17/05/2011:

I told michelle about how good is the cake from Da Paolo, so after work we went to Da Paolo to buy some cake. I chose the Mango Mousse instead of cake as I want to try how the taste is like. I brought it home and shared it with my brother, not bad, he likes it too. 

I love the colour too! Haha.

Cleaning up my room

I did some cleaning for my room and came across this pile of cardboard. Just for your information, they are the cardboard at the end of the page of foolscape pad.

I know it's kinda lame to collect such things, but i dunno.......just got this habit. haha. This collection started when i was in secondary school all the way to end of my JC life. That's why the stack of cardboard is so thick. But i have decided to recycle it, haha, save space too.

*YAY* My purple Macbook Pro cover finally arrived at my house today! So happy can! I waited damm long for it......It should have reached me earlier, but all because of the seller and the warehouse side....

I received the cover quite a long time ago, like last month? But it was PINK in colour but i ordered PURPLE. So i was thinking is it just how the purple look or a wrong item is being sent? I went to ask the seller and the it was the latter. =.= The seller asked me whether i can do with the pink one, you know what i answered? I say i cannot stand pink. Haha. So the seller say i will have to return the pink cover and after they receive it, i will have to wait again for the purple cover. No choice, i really need a cover and i don't like pink so i am alright with it. But the problem is i don't know how to return it to them, furthermore i am suppose to return it to the their warehouse in Hongkong. I asked them for help. The seller decided to let me keep the pink cover and get the purple cover FOC! Yup, i got 2 macbook pro cover for the price of one. Haha. I didn't open the pink one as i am selling it.

Love this a lot!!!

Public holiday

Today was my off day, no tuition, no work so went out with tzumi. We went to vivo city, chinatown and somerset. Not much of loot today, but was satisfying though.

Vivo city:
The purpose of going there is to have a look at the new branch of uniqlo. I felt so cheated! Not long ago i bought socks from them too, 3 for $19.90 but because of its new opening sales, it's going at 3 for $9.90! The quality is good, so helped shunyu buy one pack and i really cannot resist, so bought another pack for myself.

We went over to forever 21, purpose is for me to try a maxi dress. I really have no courage to wear it out, really. Haiz, 佩服 tzumi, really.

Chinatown:
We went directly to the shop which we fancy a lot. But it didn't stock up much new stocks, no went empty-handed out of the shop. After that we went to a cosmetic shop which has quite good business, so sort of reliable? The hydrating lotion that the owner recommend is REALLY GOOD. I can actually feel the before and after, is a must buy. We were lucky, heard that it went out-of-stock for a month and recently it got stocked up. While we were there, one lady came in and collect the lotion which she asked the owner to keep one for her. This further shows that it's good! Haha. The original price is $24, got $2 discount since tzumi also bought one.

Since mother's day is on 8 may, tzumi suggest buying something from the shop for my mum. It's a good idea! Since my mum is afraid of the sun, bought her a sun block, SPF 50. It's a pre-make up base too, my mum likes it a lot i think, even thanked me. I let her try the hydrating lotion, she also finds it good, even say if good, she also want to buy in the future after she finishes hers. Tzumi also bought one sun block. She bought another thing which i didn't. It is a lotion which contains chilli that helps to burn fats. But it's more for making the fatty parts firmer which will make her look slimmer. I must take a look at her on 2 june and see if she looks slimmer! My mum even say if really works on her, she also want one! Haha, she wants to get rid of her butterfly arms. Haha....

Somerset:
Tzumi took me to the shop which she think that their clothes are really nice and suits us. It turned out to be true. After that we decided to watch a movie since it's still early. We watched 'Death Bell 2: Bloody Camp', it was suppose to be a horror movie but it wasn't was scary as i thought and something happened in the cinema which made it even more not scary. A man who sat one seat behind me was sleeping SOUNDLY during the movie and happily SNORING away. He came alone i supposed, so no one wake him up at first. We had to bear with his LOUD snore and watch a 'horror' movie. Funny right? But i think someone woke him up, in the end, no more snoring but his snore disturbed us for about 1/4 of the show? After the movie end, everyone was like looking at him cause the cinema in cineleisure wasn't that big too, can easily spot that person.

Death Bell 2: Bloody Camp (M18)
This korean horror movie is not very scary, i didn't even cover my eyes as i normally do that when i watch horror movie. My eyes were uncovered throughout the show. It's more of bloody then scary. M18 maybe because of the language and some issue related to sex and bodies. This movie....not bad but i don't like the ending, didn't tell us what actually happen to some people. If i wee to rate it, it will be 3/5.
