Meet.

I saw this on facebook some time back and it gave me some thought.

What is the real meaning of 'meet' and 'cross our path' in this context? Is it the people whom you meet and know his or her existence even if you do not know his or her name? Or is it even meeting some strangers on the bus or MRT? I think is more of the former, right?

Also, sometimes I wonder. Is Singapore really that small or is it fate that brings 2 person together? Once in a while, when I'm about to leave my house, I will have a feeling that I will meet someone I know on the street that day. Most of them are people whom I know but not really close? We will normally end up with a small chat or 'hi!......bye!'. So in this situation, are they meant to cross my path for a reason? Or is just purely coincidence?

Sometimes, I think I just think too much. :x

My Love for Breakfast!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it provides you with all the energy you need throughout the day. If you have a good breakfast, you will definitely have a good start for the day! So everyone, never skip your breakfast!

I would love to have such breakfast everyday! I won't get sick of them! Furthermore, you can make some changes to them to have a different taste and flavour. For example, add your favourite fruits into your salad/pancake, use a different jam for your scones, have scrambled egg instead of poached egg etc.

To end off, I think it's nice to have breakfast with your loved ones too. Or even prepare breakfast together?

Introverts

I saw this on facebook, this is soooooooo true.

~

Myths Facts About Introverts :

Myth #1 – Introverts don’t like to talk.

This is not true. Introverts just don’t talk unless they have something to say. They hate small talk. Get an introvert talking about something they are interested in, and they won’t shut up for days.

Myth #2 – Introverts are shy.

Shyness has nothing to do with being an Introvert. Introverts are not necessarily afraid of people. What they need is a reason to interact. They don’t interact for the sake of interacting. If you want to talk to an Introvert, just start talking. Don’t worry about being polite.

Myth #3 – Introverts are rude.

Introverts often don’t see a reason for beating around the bush with social pleasantries. They want everyone to just be real and honest. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable in most settings, so Introverts can feel a lot of pressure to fit in, which they find exhausting.

Myth #4 – Introverts don’t like people.

On the contrary, Introverts intensely value the few friends they have. They can count their close friends on one hand. If you are lucky enough for an introvert to consider you a friend, you probably have a loyal ally for life. Once you have earned their respect as being a person of substance, you’re in.

Myth #5 – Introverts don’t like to go out in public.

Nonsense. Introverts just don’t like to go out in public FOR AS LONG. They also like to avoid the complications that are involved in public activities. They take in data and experiences very quickly, and as a result, don’t need to be there for long to “get it.” They’re ready to go home, recharge, and process it all. In fact, recharging is absolutely crucial for Introverts.

Myth #6 – Introverts always want to be alone.

Introverts are perfectly comfortable with their own thoughts. They think a lot. They daydream. They like to have problems to work on, puzzles to solve. But they can also get incredibly lonely if they don’t have anyone to share their discoveries with. They crave an authentic and sincere connection with ONE PERSON at a time.

Myth #7 – Introverts are weird.
Introverts are often individualists. They don’t follow the crowd. They’d prefer to be valued for their novel ways of living. They think for themselves and because of that, they often challenge the norm. They don’t make most decisions based on what is popular or trendy.

Myth #8 – Introverts are aloof nerds.

Introverts are people who primarily look inward, paying close attention to their thoughts and emotions. It’s not that they are incapable of paying attention to what is going on around them, it’s just that their inner world is much more stimulating and rewarding to them.

Myth #9 – Introverts don’t know how to relax and have fun.

Introverts typically relax at home or in nature, not in busy public places. Introverts are not thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies. If there is too much talking and noise going on, they shut down. Their brains are too sensitive to the neurotransmitter called Dopamine. Introverts and Extroverts have different dominant neuro-pathways. Just look it up.

~

So next time when you meet an introvert, please look at him or her in a different way? As the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover. Everyone is different and one should always try and get to know a person before judging. Who knows you might just get to see the other side of the person which you will never imagine? And from then on, you will look at him or her differently?

Braces journey coming to an end

So today is my last dental appointment, I will be taking out my braces next month. Excited to see how my final smile will look like!

I asked my dentist about the space each at the corner of my mouth and she said she cannot do anything with it. Oh well, so I can't fill my smile with teeth then. And she actually told me, I'm her first patient who point this out. Hehe...observant!

Anyway, at first I thought my braces is like quite cheap as I counted and kept all the receipts from the start to keep track of it. However, my dentist told me that she forgot to charge me the down payment which is supposed to be done at the start. Now everything sums up to a lot of $$$......right....so it isn't cheap after all -.-

2 things to look forward to:
1) exams to be over and start my summer break
2) my next dental appointment!

:D :D :D

Let's go on a holiday?

Since I can't go on an exchange, I've decided to go on a holiday is summer break. I hope it will be possible though. I cannot confirm now. Let's see how after the semester ends.

After watching so many different variety shows on travelling, it just makes me even want to go on a holiday even more. Also, I doubt I will have a graduating trip because my friends in other universities will most probably travel with their classmates and my classmate won't graduate with me as she is taking honours. So i guess going on a holiday this summer break will be good?

The place which I want to visit the most is

~Maldives~

There's only the sun, beaches and resorts. Yup, that's my kind of holiday. I can be away from the city and enjoy the beautiful scenery and most importantly, relax. I can have a good tan and some water games will be good too. However, I'm not sure this is a suitable place to go on a holiday with friends because it's more for couples or honeymoon for the newly weds? HAHA....

Second, it is

~Korea~

There are a lots of things to eat, see and buy in Korea. I guess I'm influenced by kpop and korean dramas. The streets in korea are super nice and their cute little shophouses are just so special too. I heard that is a norm to have such cafes over there, so I will not only find 1 but many along a street. Cool or what? Spoilt for choices!

If I can get to stay in their wooden traditional houses, it will be a good experience for me. Rather than staying in a hotel, staying at such a house will be a new experience for me.  I heard that their sauna is good and cheap too~

Third, it is

~Taiwan~

Yes, I know I've been there once but there are still a lot of things I have yet to see. I want to explore some other parts of taiwan, like maybe 垦丁,高雄,宜兰. I think anywhere in taiwan will be nice. I have yet to try their hot spring too. Their rice is superb! Miss it sooooo much~ and I want to try more night street food too.

Fourth, it is Japan.
Fifth, it is Canada.
Sixth, it is Shanghai.
....
...
..
.
And the list goes on.

I actually wanted to start my very own travelogue if I'm going exchange as I get to travel to different places. Now that I lost this opportunity....*SIGH*

X(

I had 3 mid term tests for the past 3 days. I'm really tired. I felt that I wasn't fully prepared. I understand the notes but when I look at the questions on the paper., I just couldn't apply. They are my cores some more. What's worst, my week started with a bad news.

On Monday, while I was on the way home I checked my email and there was an email regarding SEP (student exchange programme). I signed up for it and had an interview the week before recess week. The interviewers said I will know the result after recess week. I was very consistent, checking my email everyday during the recess week because I thought they might get email the results earlier or something like that? But no news until the recess week ended. First day back to school and at the end of the day while on the way home, I received their email. They told me to choose from the remaining slots as my first and third choice are taken.

Disappointed, sad and regretful were the words to describe my feeling at that moment.

Disappointed because I did a lot of research and spend quite some time to prepare my application for submission. I did some homework to prepare for my interview too. Also, I thought I did not bad for the interview.

Sad because I really really really really really really really really want to go exchange. At first I was really scared, worried if I can really do it. But once I submitted the form, I thought it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me as I will not be going to any country as a student anymore once I graduate. Recently, I watched a lot of variety shows that is on traveling. I really like how they get to see and experience so many new stuffs. I think I'm in love with traveling now. I am not into shopping nowadays so will prefer to look at the lifestyle and culture of a country if I were to visit one. Main thing will be for the experience, eat and take photos. Having an exchange will be an awesome experience but I guess luck is just not on my side.......

Regretful because I did not apply in round 1. The reason was my sister was preparing to go overseas that time so I thought it will not be good for me to apply for SEP as it will be a burden? Then at that time, I don't really have the savings to fund myself for the trip. Hence, I quite worried about the financial part. As for now, I have saved enough money to fund myself and my sister is also back too. However, I didn't get the slot to go Concordia University in Montreal, Canada for exchange. I didn't choose from the list of remaining slots as either those universities do not offer the modules I want to read in english or they have limited english modules. Most of them are european countries therefore their first language isn't english.

I'm really sad. In the end, I signed up for local exchange to NTU. If I don't get nominated for local exchange, 我就真的认命了!

So yeah, bad news at the start of the week, can say that it kinda affect my mood to study for the 3 mid term tests? Until now I'm still feeling moody over it. Most of the people around me are flying off for SEP next semester and some the following semester. Then for those not going SEP, they are going for summer programme. And what about me? My once-in-a-lifetime experience just slip away, JUST LIKE THAT. No one but me to be blamed.

Why consider so much? Why can't I just apply and think of what to worry later? Why? Why? Why? I never want something soooooo badly in my life...maybe because it's once-in-a-lifetime. And now, it's gone, just. like. that. X(
